CSE has provided a lot of flexibility and opportunities for me to explore the topics that I’m interested in.
My advisor and my lab really helped me to break down research into manageable pieces so that I could start contributing first on their projects and then building up to having my own ideas and leading my own research projects.
I’ve had enormous success doing interdisciplinary research at Michigan. There are so many top 10 programs at this university outside of computer science and that means there are so many potential collaborators out there.
Finding a community that you enjoy working and living with is absolutely important.
