Homecoming 2024 at CSE

Homecoming weekend with CSE took place on September 13 and 14, 2024!

Activities for CSE alumni were free to attend and included lunch in the department, a Homecoming lecture by CSE’s 2024 Alumni Merit Award Winner, and a pre-game tailgate hosted in conjunction with the U-M School of Information.

Friday, September 13

Alumni Lunch in the Department

CSE held a luncheon in the department for CSE alumni, faculty, CSE graduate students. The luncheon took place at noon in the main conference room of the Bob and Betty Beyster Building, the home of CSE. A pair of football tickets was raffled off!

Lecture by Dmitri Dolgov

Dmitri Dolgov (PhD CSE 2006), the co-CEO of Waymo, was the CSE Alumni Merit Award Winner for 2024. Dmitri gave a lecture for alumni, faculty, and students, entiitled “The Waymo Way: Making Autonomous Driving a Reality.” You can see a recording of Dmitri’s talk below.

Saturday, September 14

UMSI & CSE Tailgate

UMSI and CSE held a tailgate from 9:00am until Noon on Ferry Field before Michigan took on Arkansas State at the Big House. CSE and UMSI alumni and their family and guests were invited and showed up in droves! Food and non-alcoholic beverages were provided for free.
