The seminar will discuss work being done by the National Academies' Forum on Information Technology and Research Universities, which Professor Duderstadt chairs
This presentation will summarize the recent activities of the IT-Forum, a National Academies task force studying the implications of rapidly evolving digital technology for the future of the research university. Our early studies suggest that these disruptive technologies will demand a reconsideration of the most fundamental missions, values, and character of the university.

Dr. James Duderstadt is President Emeritus and University Professor of Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. He served as President of the University of Michigan from 1988-1996.
