Research Group on Quantum Communication
An interdisciplinary group (EECS & Math) has formed to study research problems in quantum information theory. We focus on problems in quantum communication. Specific goals include: (1) computing invariants associated to quantum channels (such as channel capacity), (2) developing models for secure (private) communication, and (3) studying the use of quantum entanglement as a communication resource. All faculty and graduate students are welcome to attend. At the meeting on February 15th, Carl Miller will discuss the paper "quantum One-Time Pad in the Presence of an Eavesdropper" by F. Brandao and J. Oppenheim. (Physical Review Letters 108, 040504 (2012).)
