Undergraduate Student Awards
Each year, EECS undergraduate students are selected to receive a variety of awards based on scholarship, research, service, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Awards are available at the College level (College of Engineering Awards) and through the EECS Department (for available awards, see below).
How to apply for EECS awards
Students enrolled in programs administered by CSE are encouraged to apply for EECS awards. To do so, click on the link below that corresponds to your major program and fill out the application.
Upon completion of the EECS Awards application, you will be directed to the College of Engineering Award Nomination Form; please also consider applying for CoE awards.
The deadline to apply for awards is January 3, 2024.

EECS award descriptions
The Collaboration, Respect, and Inclusion Award is given to students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and made significant contributions to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion with clear impacts as a result of these efforts. $500 cash award.
The Community Impact Award is given to students who enhance departmental excellence by fostering a supportive climate, promoting collaborative work and learning, and investing time and energy to create a sense of belonging for all members of our community. $500 cash award.
The Outstanding Achievement Award is given to an outstanding senior from each program area: computer engineering, computer science, and electrical engineering, on the basis of overall achievement. High scholastic standing is important. $500 cash award.
The Outstanding Research Award is given to students who did an outstanding project over and above the requirements in a course or an independent project with a faculty member or graduate student. $500 cash award.
The Outstanding Service Award is given to students who have shown leadership of student organizations, service to the Department, College, or University, service to other students, service to the Community or any combination of these areas. $500 cash award.
The Commercialization/Entrepreneurship Award is given to students who exemplify a partnership of engineering and business through involvement or startup of a private business, patents, or partnerships with corporations to further their field of knowledge and interest. $500 cash award.
The William L. Everitt Student Award of Excellence is given to three students of senior standing in the areas of computer engineering, computer science, and electrical engineering, who are in the top 10% of their class, with an interest in communications and computers, and with professional interests and activities. $500 cash award.
