Connect with individual faculty or with the division
Research support provides an opportunity to connect with faculty on their area of expertise and interest. These direct connections can provide important insight into the future of a particular area, can help companies recruit students with the best skills to meet their needs, and develop a network of contacts that can assist when engaging on campus. Please feel free to reach out to individual faculty about a project. You may also to contact the division for guidance in making connections.
AI Connections program
The Michigan Artificial Intelligence Lab has developed an AI Connections program that provides a formal venue for a community of AI leaders in industry and at the university to convene and collaborate. For information on how to join the AI Connections Program, visit the AI Lab website.
AI Symposium
The Michigan Artificial Intelligence Lab holds an annual symposium to to bring together participants from both academia and industry who are interested in the foundations or real-life applications of artificial intelligence. Technology transfer
Technology developed at CSE can do big things. Existing companies can license this tech to advance their products and services, or tech transfer agreements can form the basis for new ventures.
The U-M Innovation Partnerships office is responsible for the details of commercialization of University research discoveries. The Innovation Partnerships office can help industry in making a number of types of connections, including for research alliances and for technology transfer. Innovation Partnerships enhances the impact these research discoveries to encourage licensing and broad deployment with existing businesses and newly-formed U-M start-ups.
Donating equipment
Equipment donations are a great opportunity to enable faculty to utilize your equipment and build relationships. Often these donations facilitate research and activities that were not previously possible.
