Elliot Soloway Voted HKN Professor of the Year

Based on student input, Elliot Soloway, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor, was selected as the 2010-2011 HKN Professor of the Year by U-M Eta Kappa Nu, the local chapter of the national honor society for electrical and computer engineers. Prof. Soloway received the award from HKN president Jeff Rosen on April 20 at the EECS Department’s St. George’s Feast. Jeff said that Prof. Soloway was chosen for the award for his inpirational style and dedication to student creativity.

HKN selects one faculty member from the EECS department each year for this award. Prof. Soloway has won the award previously.

Prof. Soloway has also been influential in fostering an enthusiasm for the development of mobile applications by students at U-M, inspiring students to create projects in his classes and to create mobile apps at events that he sponsors.
