Maya Spivak Awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

Computer Science and Engineering Master’s student Maya Spivak has been awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. NSF Graduate Research Fellowships are the most prestigious awards available to students beginning their graduate studies in the sciences.

Ms Spivak’s research interests include low-level software for embedded systems and computer architecture. She in currently working with Professor Prabal Dutta on a project aimed at improving the experience for hearing aid users in large lecture halls and auditoriums using mobile phones as alternative computing sources.

In addition to her studies, she is President of the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society.
