The Job Talk Talk: How to Prepare for the Faculty Interview Process

Interviewing for a faculty position can be a mysterious and intimidating process. In this seminar, I tell you what to expect and how to prepare for interviews at top academic institutions. Furthermore, I discuss how to structure and prepare your "Job Talk," the pivotal component of a successful interview. This seminar is targeted at anyone who is considering a career as an academic, whether first year graduate student or a PhD candidate planning to interview this year.
Thomas F. Wenisch is assistant professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. He received his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2007 and joined the faculty at Michigan that year. He was named a Morris Wellman Faculty Development Professor in 2010. His research is focused on computer architecture with particular emphasis on multiprocessor and multicore systems, multicore programmability, data center architecture, and performance evaluation methodology.
