Connect with Students
Students enrolled in CSE’s programs are among the best in the world. To create the competitive advantage of the future by hiring these students, companies have the opportunity to engage students on campus.
Listed below are key resources on campus that can assist hiring companies with recruiting and engaging students.

Engineering Career Resource Center
The Engineering Career Resource Center (ECRC) provides a number of services to assist employers with developing and maintaining successful recruiting relationships with Michigan Engineering
Job postings: The ECRC maintains a system that allows employers to post internship, co-op, and full-time job opportunities that are available to students across Michigan Engineering, including students in LSA who study computer science.
Career fairs: The ECRC also organizes a Fall Engineering Career Fair (late September) and a Winter Engineering Career Fair (late January/early February), which provide an an opportunity for companies to interact with job seeking students directly. The MPowered Career Fair, designed exclusively for startups, is usually held in Winter term.
The ECRC provides additional services as well. To engage or learn more, visit the ECRC website.
Intern Connect – a streamlined internship program for Michigan companies
Intern Connect is a new program designed to connect talented undergraduate students studying computer science, computer engineering, and data science with internship opportunities at companies across Michigan.
What makes this program unique? The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Michigan will help to match your internship opportunity with a set of outstanding candidates for interviews, abbreviating the effort you need to put into a search.
Note: Intern Connect is a separate program from the ECRC and is run by CSE. Companies can feel free to engage with one program, the other, or both, but please be aware the are administered separately.
To get started, visit the Intern Connect webpage.
Multidisciplinary Design Program
The Multidisciplinary Design Program (MDP) at Michigan Engineering provides team-based, “learn by doing” opportunities for students. The MDP program is open to first year undergraduate through professional masters students from across the university. Students apply to join projects in early Fall.
External partners may participate by providing projects for student teams to work on. MDP personnel will help you to select an engineering based project for students that will benefit your company, keeping in mind your technology and recruitment goals and educational needs of the program. For information on how to engage, visit the MDP website.
Student organizations
Our student organizations, especially HKN, GEECS, and IEEE, regularly host companies who give tech talks or other presentations to our students. The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is the go-to College-wide student group that organizes many activities that dovetail with recruiting. CSE students are involved in a wide variety of competitive teams, and opportunities exist to provide support or to otherwise interact with these teams. To contact a student group or team, see our directory of groups and teams here.
