2021 EECS Outstanding Achievement Awards

The EECS Department has honored five faculty for their sustained excellence in instruction and curricular development, distinguished participation in service activities, or for their significant achievements in scholarly research.

Five faculty have received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.  The award recognizes individual faculty for special contributions made in teaching, research, and/or service.

Kurt Metzger Collegiate Lecturer Mark Brehob is recognized for transitioning several lab-oriented courses to allow in-person work during the pandemic; for outstanding service as a member of the CSE Executive Committee and as the CE Program Advisor; and for leadership in the experiential teaching mission of the Department.

Ron Dreslinski

Prof. Ron Dreslinski is recognized for innovative research at the intersection of VLSI and computer architecture, to produce computer systems that overcome limitations created by the end of Dennard Scaling and the slowing of Moore’s Law.

Cindy Finelli

Prof. Cindy Finelli is recognized for outstanding contributions in engineering education research, leadership of the EER program in the College of Engineering, contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion in the Division and College, and leadership in assisting ECE faculty with remote teaching methods and technology during the COVID-19 emergency.
