Mark Brehob Named U-M Collegiate Lecturer

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to instruction, Dr. Mark Brehob has been selected for distinction through the U-M Collegiate Lecturer Program. His appointment as Collegiate Lecturer this year is a title he will retain throughout his career at the University.

Dr. Brehob received his PhD in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 2003. He joined the EECS Department at Michigan as a Lecturer in 2000. While at Michigan, he has taught both introductory and advanced classes, with a focus on embedded and microprocessor-based systems, computer architecture, and applied signal processing.

Dr. Brehob is Chief Program Advisor for the undergraduate Computer Engineering program available through the EECS Department. In addition, he is Director of the both the EECS Student Project Lab in the Beyster Building and of the Embedded Systems Hub, which provides all U-M students, staff, and faculty the resources and support needed to do basic embedded systems work.

Dr. Brehob has been recognized with the College of Engineering Teaching Excellence Award (2005) and an EECS Special Teaching Award (given once, in 2003). He has been elected Eta Kappa Nu Professor of the Year by EECS students five times, in 2001, 2002, 2007, 2009, and 2012.
