2022 EECS Outstanding Achievement Awards

The EECS Department has honored four faculty for their sustained excellence in instruction and curricular development, distinguished participation in service activities, or for their significant achievements in scholarly research.

Four faculty have received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.  The award recognizes individual faculty for special contributions made in teaching, research, and/or service.

The recipients of the 2022 EECS Outstanding Achievement Award are:

For establishing a very successful research program on wide bandgap semiconductors, and for her excellence as a teacher and mentor to her doctoral students.

For sustained instructional excellence in some of CSE’s (and the University of Michigan’s) largest and most popular courses, and for leadership in service and promoting the standing of teaching faculty.

Andrew Owens

For innovative research in computer vision, key contributions to the ECE PhD program in computer vision, and instructional excellence in the highly popular computer vision courses.

Emily Mower Provost

Emily Mower Provost

For excellence in research on speech-based assistive technology and perception of human behavior, and for innovative leadership as CSE Graduate Program Chair.
