Jason Clemons Wins GSRC Margarida Jacome Best Poster/Demo Award

Ph.D. student Jason Clemons won the GSRC Margarida Jacome Best Poster/Demo Award at the Annual Symposium of the Gigascale Systems Research Center on Nov. 16. The award recognizes outstanding student research (and its presentation) as judged by the center sponsors. The GSRC sponsors 37 principal investigators and 60 students from 15 US universities.

Jason presented his “Visual Sonification Project,” joint work with Profs. Todd Austin and Silvio Savarese in EECS, which is a mobile vision platform that utilizes real-time vision computing to enable a blind person to navigate with their sense of hearing.
